This week we see that the empty tomb guarantees our eternity. As a shepherd would say to his sheep, so Jesus says to us, “Follow me.” However, this is not just another claim made by another religious leader. By his resurrection, Jesus proves his ability to promise his sheep: “They shall never perish. No one can snatch them out of my hand.”
New Beginnings – A Home for Mothers, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, provides a loving and supportive place for single mothers to start a new life. This Christian-based home for mothers allows a resident to become a responsible parent – by raising her new baby in a caring environment. New Beginnings enables a single mother to live away from negative influences and nurture her baby in a positive environment. It provides a unique opportunity for generationally poor mothers to break the cycle of dependency. Currently, the program provides opportunities to advance education, learn fundamental parenting and financial skills, participate in counseling sessions, and acquire an objective baseline for responsible living through a structured faith-based program. Ultimately, the vision is to equip each mother with the skills and education needed to earn self-sustaining wages, without an indeterminate need for government assistance. If you would like to support this effort, please take a baby bottle from the church lobby, fill it with your spare change (or whatever amount you would like to give), and bring it back to church by Father’s Day, June 16.
Youth group will meet 6-9pm this Wednesday. Text Pastor Odell for other times and topics!
One of the chief things the resurrection teaches us is that Jesus is who he said he was—the Messiah, the Son of God, the Almighty himself. When his detractors had demanded, “What miraculous sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?” Jesus had answered, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days” (John 2:19). What does this mean? It means that he who was willing to suffer hell and die for you is also the One through whom all things were made and in whom all things hold together. The One who rules over all that is seen and all that is unseen is your brother, your friend, your provider, your Savior. So with the angels we cry, “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” (Revelation 5:12).

He is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
On Easter Sunday Jesus rises from the dead and validates every promise he ever made. His resurrection is one of the best attested facts in human history. But, more importantly, his resurrection is our certain hope of life after death and our own resurrection (see 1 Corinthians 15). For thousands of years, Christians have remembered Jesus’ victory by greeting each other with the Easter Greeting: “Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!” You can read about Jesus’ resurrection in John 20:1-18. 👇 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=john+20%3A1-18&version=NIV You are welcome to join us for a celebration of Jesus' resurrection at 6:30am or 10:30am tomorrow morning. Everyone is invited for a special breakfast served in the school gym, following the Sunrise service at around 7:30am. He is Risen!
